In the presence of a number of prominent figures and representatives of capital markets and international financial institutions, the Gulf Bond and Sukuk Association (GBSA) honored H.E. Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, CEO of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), at the opening session of the Gulf Debt Capital Market Summit held today in Dubai at the Address Boulevard in recognition of his participation in the summit and for SCA's valuable initiatives.
At the beginning of the summit, Dr. Al Zaabi spoke in a session dedicated for senior officials in regional regulatory authorities. He addressed the most prominent initiatives that SCA introduced in 2018 and its key projects for the coming year in the areas of corporate governance, fin-tech, sustainable capital markets, co-operation with regulators globally, widening the investor base, investor awareness, and financial inclusion. Dr. Al Zaabi also spoke about SCA's initiatives concerning the tools used and the approaches implemented to encourage compliance by capital market participants.
It is worth mentioning that the Gulf Debt Capital Market Summit was aimed to showcase the progress made in capital market development and to shed more light on the investment opportunities in bonds and sukuk.
